Luke Jerram on the work he’ll never see complete: RESURGENCE MAGAZINE

In November last year I was lucky enough to see the late great photographer Martin Parr being interviewed at Paintworks in Bristol. Parr was brilliant and it was infinitely insightful - no surprises there - yet I found myself as interested in interviewer as interviewee. The quizzer in question was Luke Jerram, an artist whose work you may have encountered without even knowing his name (‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ street pianos; giant sculptures of Earth and Moon suspended at cathedrals worldwide; ‘Park and Slide’, a giant inflatable water feature installed on Bristol’s Park Street in 2014). I found out about his latest work and wrote about it for Resurgence Magazine.
